TOPIC: PEACE
                 TEXT : Psalm 34:1-14
"Turn away from evil and do what is good. Search for PEACE, and work to maintain it NLT.

The word PEACE  Is a condition or sense of harmony,well-being, and prosperity. It can also be the state of being calm or quite. Apostle Paul made mention of this "peace" in his letter during his salutation to his Audience. Eph.1:2;Gal.1:3. But Jesus potrayed himself to be the owner or the giver of this "PEACE", and made his disciples to understand that this peace is not the type the world or men gives ( Jhn.14:27). The Hebrew word of this PEACE is "Shalom", and and can be seen in the O.T(Old Testament) when God promised this peace through his servant Moses, "The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace" Exd.14:14. War is the opposite peace, and God assured his chosen Israel that this peace will be given to them so that they will be free from war against their bondage in the land of Egypt. The Israelites cried bitterly while in bondage in the land Egypt because "PEACE" seems to be far from them. CONSIDERATION OF THE TEXT. Psalm 34:14 "Turn away from evil and do what is good. Search for PEACE, and work to maintain it " NLT. THE MESSAGE! This is psalm of David, regarding the time he pretended to be insane in front of Abimelech, who sent him away. From verse one of this psalm, King David praised the LORD for saving him and giving victory over all his enemies, and also told of his total dependent upon the God. And in Verse 14, David made a general call which he acknowledged GOD as the author of "Peace" . David said, "SEARCH FOR PEACE''. Having know God as the author of peace, and who fulfilled his promises through his only SON JESUSE, David said, SEARCH FOR JESUS (Peace), and work to maintain Him (Peace). The disciples of Jesus, while in boat wit Him, and it seems that this PEACE was asleep, a heavy storm broke over the boat, to the disciples there were nolonger peace in the boat, but it was when they realised that PEACE is very closer to them, they shouted and called upon the PEACE, lo and behold, when the PEACE woke up, there was a great calm. (Mark 4:37-39). Nowonder David said, "In my desperation I praye, and The Lord listend"(Ps.34:6) Today, The Peace is still calling us to repent from our sins and return to him. The Peace says in Rev.3:20, " Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me"NIV. Now I Decree! 1.May you find peace in all areas of life 2. May God send his peace upon that sick body who has just read this message. 3. May that person who always have sleepless night recieve Peace . 4. May those families, communities, nations and other orginization where it seems to be no peace recieve peace that comes from the LORD now In the Jesus Name!
